American Quarter Horse – This is the most popular breed in America, famed for their steady temper and reliable nature. They are energetic horses, but their easy natures make them great for beginners.

Clydesdale – These gentle giants are large horses with very good manners! Quiet and gentle they are great first horses, so if the size doesn’t deter you, they are a great choice for a first horse.
