Some things you should not buy online – Some things lend themselves easily to online shopping, the things you know the size of like shoes and socks for example. When it comes to tailoring, however, a suit is bit trickier to buy online. Adjustments can be made sometimes, but if your out on the shoulder measurements, no tailor in the land will be able to help you.

Proper measurements – Before clicking checkout, get a measuring tape and be sure to get accurate measurements of your inseam, chest, height, waist, neck size and sleeve length. Factor in changes – At different times of the year, our bodies change. How something fits in the January sales after the Christmas pounds have been added to your waist will be different to the way it fits in the summer, for example. Store sizes vary – It would be so helpful if all store sizes were uniform but alas, they are not. Refer to your measurements and know that a medium from one store might be a large in another.
