Walking along the Cotswold way

Lifestyle

One of the most beautiful and rewarding walks there is to undertake in Britain is the Cotswold way. It runs from Chipping Campden in the North down to Bath in the South. It is a changing landscape that starts off in a very agricultural feel and then changes to the more urban regency splendour of the Old Roman Spa town.

The weather can be an unpredictable factor in a walk in this area. Whilst it is true that you are inthe South of Britain where the weather is generally more clement and with human intervention global warming is becoming quite mediterranean like the squalls and storms that the region gets can come at the most inopportune time and quite suddenly.

Therefore you’ll need to think carefully about what to wear. One of the best items that you can have packed away in your rucksack, or even start the walk wearing, is one of the many designs of Aran Sweaters from Shamrock Gift. They make a perfect accompaniment to  a  walk as they use merino wool in their construction. This sheep’s wool is renowned for its water resistant properties. So, if the heavens open and the wind gets up you will be kept dry long enough to find one of the many inns and tea shops along the route for cover and sustenance.

The sheer volume of stopping points and beautiful views of Gloucestershire make this a number one choice for many ramblers and serious walkers alike.
