The summer before you start college or Uni is a great time to get ready. It’s both exciting and nerve-racking to think about independent living. Here are some essentials to help you pack for your first year of college or Uni.
Documents
It’s important, but boring. Take all the documents you will need to enrol in those first exciting days. You’ll also need:
Passport or driving licence
Acceptance Letter from the College
Contract for your accommodation
Set of four passport photos
Your debit card (obviously)
Documents relating to bursaries, scholarships or student loans
Travel Discount Cards and NHS Number
Stay Connected – You’ll also need an ethernet cord, your phone charger, and your laptop to type all those important essays. Do you have a printer with you? You will need a small TV, TV licence and USB TV stick to watch all the daytime TV shows you can now enjoy! Don’t forget to check out Cheap Laptops from efurbishedlaptops.co.uk
Cooking – You can’t eat fast food every single day. You can get a cheap student cookbook that has easy and inexpensive recipes. You can also bring along a wok, a baking tray, cutlery and glasses, mugs or plates. Take along the essentials for your first few days, like milk, bread and beans.
Bathroom – Don’t forget to maintain your personal hygiene when Mum isn’t around! You’ll also need towels, personal medications, and paracetamol to help with those Freshers Week headaches, a wash bag and toothbrush, a first aid kit, as well as your own stash of toilet paper!
Miscellaneous – You can save money by buying some non-essential but useful items. You can buy things like tea towels, cleaning supplies, kitchen sponges or a plant to decorate your room.
