Winston Churchill, Prime Minister throughout the Second World War

Born at Blenheim Palace on the 30th of November 1874, Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill went on to become Britain’s Prime Minister from 1940-1945 and led the Country to victory in the Second World War.

Born in the County of Oxfordshire to wealthy, aristocratic parents, Churchill went on to serve in the British Army and witnessed first hand the atrocities of War when he saw action in the Second Boer War, the Anglo Sudan War and in British India. In 1940 he replaced Neville Chamberlain as Britain’s Prime Minister and led the Country to Victory against Germany in 1945.  He was a great Motivational Speaker and often addressed the troops personally as well as making live radio broadcasts to the Nation.  Famous for his inspiring quotes such as; “We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the landing grounds” ending with one of his most iconic sayings “We shall NEVER surrender”.  He was World renown for being an inspiring, uplifting, charismatic Motivation speaker UK and his phrase “This was their finest hour” after the collapse of France to The Nazis was made when it was suspected that Britain would follow suit. “Never in the field of conflict was so much owed by so many by to so few” was his tribute to The Royal Air Force and the British airmen that helped turn the tide of the German War machine.

He passed away on the 24th January 1965, at his London home, at the grand age of ninety, after suffering a fatal stroke.
