What to pack for an Autumn Break.

Uncategorised

After the summer’s warmth has come and gone and the leaves begin to turn from green to orange brown it still doesn’t mean that you can’t go on holiday! Autumn breaks can be very romantic, especially as it is a time when the kids are starting school.  Autumn is a time of the season of mellow fruitfulness as Apple season comes into its own. It is time for hearty soups and crusty bread, Sausages and mash potatoes, Fairs and Toffee apples and good long woodland walks. The only thing that you need to know is what to wear for it.

Picking an Autumn outfit for holidays is difficult. You never know what the weather is going to do. It is very much about layering. So, here are a few pointers,

  1. A decent pair of Aran Sweaters. This cozy bit of knitwear is also water resistant due to the lanolin in it.
  2. A waterproof or shower proof coat. Something that is lightweight and easy to zip on and off.
  3. Walking shoes. Autumn is the best time for walks, especially in the evenings when there is low Sun. Get some for a woodland trek.
  4. Long dress, something warm and rustic is a good fall back.

Don’t forget to compliment the season with autumnal colours.
