Drain lining is a plumbing procedure that involves repairing an underground drain network, a sewage line or a whole sewage system without the necessity to hole up the surrounding area. The lining used is usually made of an insulated material on the inside and a sturdy reinforced plastic exterior for further protection. Lined with epoxy or polyethylene, it is placed over or inside the pipe or drain and remains there until the necessary replacement.

Pipes and drain lining do not deteriorate over time. However, years of exposure to moisture, humidity, and water can eventually damage it. A buildup of corrosion, rust and mildew can cause the metal to deteriorate and eventually corrode away. This can occur both inside the pipes themselves and due to accumulated moisture and debris that can build up over time.

There are many reasons why drainage pipes may become damaged over time. Heavy vehicles driving across the street may cause a section of drain lining to become cracked or damaged, forcing you to replace it with a newer one. It is always better to hire a professional when it comes to any type of drain relining for your home or business.
